Alex Powar
Master Coffee Educator
Today, Alex Powar is seen as the coffee ambassador for Four Barrel, working as the director of quality control and as an advanced coffee educator, but his path to the bean started from humble origins. While earning a degree in chemistry, Alex used coffee to stay awake between classes, but it wasn’t until he traveled abroad that he understood the fascinating influence of agriculture on the product, as well as the way chemistry actually informs the roasting process. Alex became hooked on brewing the perfect cup and began working in the industry full-time, and since then, he’s been profiled in magazines and newspapers across the world for his work at Four Barrel.
####Where You'll Meet The perfect cup of coffee. It's a never-ending pursuit for the roasters at Four Barrel. With that end in mind, they constantly try new techniques and taste every single batch of their coffee, all procured from green sources. Four Barrel also thoroughly trains each person who serves their coffee, whether they're a barista at the on-site cafe or one of Four Barrel's many partners throughout the Bay Area.
