- Bert’s first claim to fame: Before he was a popular standup comedian and TV personality, Bert was a six-year undergrad at Florida State University. In 1997, Rolling Stone deemed him the “top partier” at FSU, and that story became the inspiration for the 2002 film Van Wilder.
- Where you’ve seen him since: Bert found fame thereafter as an actor, comedian, and television host. In 2010, Travel Channel gave him his own show as Bert the Conquerer, in which Bert travels across the U.S. doing crazy things at amusement parks.
- What he’s up to these days: touring the country in the wake of the takeoff of his career, which is in thanks to his viral bit about how he earned the nickname “The Machine”
