Motor City Laugh-A-Thon
- DeRay Davis: having honed his fast-talking chops on the South Side of Chicago, Davis won the Comedy Central Laugh Riots Competition and his affable mug has been spotted at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival
- Bruce Bruce: This funnyman caught the eye of BET’s Coast to Coast comedy showcase when the then-chef unsheathed the jokes he’d been serving up with his barbecue. Since then, he’s landed spots on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and Showtime at the Apollo, as well as a two-year stint hosting BET’s Comic View.
- Adele Givens: this stand-up comedian is known for being one of ‘The Queens of Comedy’ and performing on the historic “Def Comedy Jam” stage, as well as appearing in movies such as Beauty Shop and The Players Club.
- Michael Colyar: comedian who is known for his social commentary and motivational speaking using humor and personal stories and who has appeared as Buford the Frog in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog and as Buff Man on The Cleveland Show
- Red Grant: He first appeared on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam at The Apollo Theatre, a proving ground of sorts with an audience that doesn’t coddle its performers. Since his HBO debut, Red has appeared on Shaq’s All Star Comedy Jam, performed a Comedy Central special, and kept Showtime viewers in stitches with Caught Red Handed.
- Comedian JJ Williamson: Standup has been seen on BET’s Comic View, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, and in the Cedric the Entertainer comedy Johnson Family Vacation.
