- June 11, 2023: Cosmic Adventures with Tracy Drain
Secrets of the Whales
After nearly four decades of exploring and documenting the world’s oceans in 24 locations, one of the National Geographic's finest explorers and photographers Brian Skerry presents his findings on the lives and culture of whales. The explorer will share his behind-the-scenes stories and anecdotes on four species. The audience will get to discover the techniques of hunting and international cuisines of orca pods and the multi-generational childcare systems and female-led families of sperm whales. Additionally, the audience will get to know something about the singing competitions among humpback whales and explore the nature of Canada's beluga whales.
Cosmic Adventures
The audience will get to enjoy our cosmic backyard's marvels through the eyes of the robotic spacecraft that has been sent out to explore this unknown sphere. Aerospace engineer Tracy Drain from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory's mission is to enable complex machines to explore what our solar system has to offer. The audience will get to listen to her mesmerizing stories of the Kepler mission, a behind-the-scenes story of the Juno mission to Jupiter, and more.
