Beanie Sigel and Freeway
Beanie Sigel: With a distinctive accentuated delivery and brass-knuckle rhymes, Beanie became a legend in the Philly rap scene after appearing on Jay-Z’s Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life (which led to a stint on Roc-a-Fella Records), forming the group State Property (where he rocked the mic with fellow Philly star Freeway), and releasing the critically-acclaimed The B. Coming, featuring the hit, “Feel it in the Air.”
Freeway: After exploding on the scene in 2000 on The Dynasty: Roc La Familia track “1-900-Hustler” and getting signed by Jay-Z, this former Roc-a-Fella Records rapper took fans on the Philadelphia Freeway (where he scored his biggest hit, “What We Do”), and recently unleashed 2016’s Free Will, which chronicles his struggles after kidney failure.
