Piaf! The Show
Anne Carrere isn’t the legendary Edith Piaf, but don’t tell your ears. The chanteuse, whom the Times Square Chronicles called “as close as you can get to Piaf,” brings both the story and the music of “The Little Sparrow” to life in her intimate concert, calling to mind the bumpy streets of Montmarte and the sweetness of Paris at twilight. Carrere and her band, a musical ensemble of four, get some help from projections in creating their time-traveling effect, showing the audience candid images of Piaf herself, as well as English translations of her legendary songs, such as “La Vie en Rose,” “Je Ne Regrette Rien,” and “Padam, Padam.”
