Country musicians possess a knack for storytelling, which explains why most artists in the genre started out as kindergarten teachers or Stephen King. Treat ears to sonically spun yarns with today’s GrouponLive deal: for $21, you get one general-admission ticket to see Robert Earl Keen at The Paramount in Huntington on Saturday, January 21, at 8 p.m. (up to a $41.50 value, including all Ticketmaster fees).

Country-folk raconteur and Lone Star icon Robert Earl Keen captivates audiences with jocular performances that effortlessly balance heartbreaking portraiture and raucous barroom fun. With a songbook as big as Texas and a mordant sense of humor, Keen has built a dedicated following over the decades through his relentless touring, therapeutic prolificacy, and refusal to sell out or marry a glamorous hand model. Keen’s gift of wordplay and honest timbre lacquers mental landscapes as he shares a mix of hoedowns and breakdowns from his vast catalog and his latest album, Ready for Confetti. Recently renovated and acoustically designed to cure melancholia in audiophiles, the spacious Paramount smuggles top-tier NYC shows into Long Island, saving music fans from ferry fees or hitching rides on the backs of wandering Rockettes.

Customer Reviews

It's an open floor venue which is great for a rock concert. Ratt played very well, and I especially enjoyed the flawless rendition of their bigger hits. Could have done without some of the cursing on stage, but that wasn't a huge detraction.
