After a breakneck start following his brothers into investment and then raising a small empire of restaurants, Allen Sanford decided to slow down. At the helm of Saint Rocke he follows a passion for music, keeping his life low-key and fostering blooms of fast-tempo rock, hip-hop, and Latin tunes. To further spread his love of music, he streams high-definition live concerts across the Internet. Yet to fully experience the thrill of dancing crowds and pulse-thrumming guitar riffs, music lovers dive into the venue’s intimate stage shows.
The June schedule lobs up ample opportunity to twist and headbang. The Cordovas tickle ears with a distinctive old timey twang, supported by collaborator Joe Firstman’s gravelly vocals, and Argentinean outfit Los Pinguos bring a jazzy bounce to their poppy Latin beats. One Drop Redemption channels Bob Marley & The Wailers with a full eight-piece reggae band and Luckyiam thrills fans with classic West Coast hip-hop, honed since the early ’90s with constant practice and chisels fashioned from rhyming dictionaries. Hailing from South Africa by way of Holland, Dilana lends her husky vocals to raw chords, and The Darlings kick off their participation in the Warped Tour with churning alt rock and acoustic-guitar-driven ballads. On Father’s Day, The Rising pays homage to the pop of rock––the Boss himself––with a passionate verve that beautifully recreates the E Street Band’s sonics.
