• Too Short: As a pioneer of West Coast hip-hop, Too Short influenced the next generation of rappers with hits such as "The Ghetto" and "Blow the Whistle."
• Lloyd: Born in New Orleans and raised within the booming Atlanta music scene, this R&B artist has seen his career span two decades—including collaborations with Lil Wayne as well as several soulful solo albums.
• Frankie J: This R&B singer, who was a member of Latin music group Kumbia Kings, lends his bilingual pipes to songs in both English and Spanish, including “Don’t Wanna Try” and “Obsession (No Es Amor),” which hit No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and top 10 hit collaboration with Baby Bash, “Suga Suga.”
• Baby Bash: Formerly known as Baby Beesh, this rapper has been on the scene since the 1990s, collaborating with everyone from Fat Joe to Jennifer Hudson and releasing his own solo work in the meantime. His latest, Ronnie Rey All Day, hit the virtual shelves in 2014.
• Next: the Minneapolis R&B trio filled the late '90s and 2000s with slinky smash hits such as "Butta Love," "Too Close," and "Wifey"
• Bobby V: Bobby V first ventured into the music world at the age 16 as a part of the group Mista, but he made his first big impression with his 2005 solo single “Slow Down,” released on Ludacris’s label, DTP. He hasn't heeded the single's plea, either—he's since released hits such as "Beep," "Phone #," "Rock Wit'cha," and "Mirror" with Lil Wayne.
• Amanda Perez: This R&B singer hit the Top 5 of the Billboard pop charts with her 2003 single, "Angel." Since then, she's kept up the flow with hits such as "I Pray," "Candy Kisses," and her latest, "Freak for the Weekend."
• J. Holiday: Charging up the charts in 2007 with the hit "Bed," this R&B powerhouse has continued to amass fans with sultry jams from his three studio albums, including 2014's Guilty Conscience.
• DJ Quik: One of the luminaries of the West Coast rap scene in the early '90s, this producer, rapper, and beat-maker debuted to critical acclaim with Quik Is the Name. His 2011 album, The Book of David, entered the Top 5 on Billboard's rap chart, and his latest, 2014's The Midnight Life, was described by AllMusic.com as "a fun-loving affair."
