About This Deal
In schools across the U.S., 85% of high school students reported being harassed because of their real or perceived sexual orientation, and up to 19% reported being physically assaulted in the past year because of their sexual orientation or gender expression. The Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) seeks to promote understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues by educating the public with national conventions and ad campaigns, as well as providing resource materials to schools to help faculty members foster understanding and respect amongst students.
GLSEN's Safe Space Campaign aims to supply every middle and high school in the country with a Safe Space Kit— an informative packet that provides helpful strategies for supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender students, educating the student body about anti-LGBT bias, and suggestions for in-school advocacy initiatives. The kits also contain Safe Space stickers and posters that enable faculty members to clearly identify themselves as supportive educators.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help GLSEN supply schools with resource materials to promote LGBT understanding. If G-Team members raise $2,500, GLSEN can provide 250 Safe Space Kits to middle and high schools all over the country. An anonymous donor will match each G-Team donation up to $25,000.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
