The Issue: Fun Opportunities for Youth with Down Syndrome
The Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s Dare to Play football day camp allows youth with Down syndrome to learn about the game for a week before showcasing their budding gridiron skills in a game open to the public. The camp provides these youth with an opportunity to participate in a fun sport they might not have had the chance to experience, in addition to raising awareness about individuals with Down syndrome.
The Campaign: Purchase Uniforms for Youth Football Camp
If this Grassroots campaign raises $400, then the Global Down Syndrome Foundation can provide football jerseys and uniform shorts to 20 participants in its Dare to Play football day camp to help bolster the campers’ sense of team unity and pride. Each additional $40 raised will provide a football uniform for another Dare to Play camper. All donations will be matched by an anonymous donor.

Global Down Syndrome Foundation
The Global Down Syndrome Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to significantly improving the lives of people with Down syndrome through research, medical care, education, and advocacy. Despite being one of the most common chromosomal disorders in the country—occurring in 1 out of every 691 births—Down syndrome receives exceptionally low funding compared to other genetic conditions. The foundation helps to make up for the shortfall by hosting fundraisers and conferences, advocating for public policy that benefits those with Down syndrome, and providing programming that allows individuals living with the condition to develop their talents and abilities.
