The Issue: Space Limitations at Ronald McDonald House
Because the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth is often filled to capacity, the organization is forced to turn away families in need looking for a place to stay. In order to remedy this problem, it plans to add 20 additional guest rooms and a new family game room, as well as expand the dining room, administrative spaces, and laundry rooms.
The Campaign: Add New Family Game Room at the House
If this Grassroots campaign raises $400, then the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth can purchase two couches for a new family game room. Each additional $30 raised will be used to provide two board games for the game room.
With the expansion completed, the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth will be able to serve 58 families at a time. Families staying at the house will be able to relax and spend time together in the new game room, where they can watch movies, play board games, and read books.
All donations will be matched up to a $400 total from an anonymous donor. You can follow the progress of this and other Grassroots campaigns at the Groupon Grassroots website.
Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth
The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth has served as a home-away-from home for families of children receiving medical treatment at area hospitals since 1981. In 2010, 898 families stayed at the house. During their stays, families reside in a private room with a private bath so they can have opportunities to rest and relax, all while being close to their children.
