According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in every 110 American children experiences autism-spectrum disorder (ASD), which can cause atypical development in socialization, communication, and behavior. Columbus Speech & Hearing Center (CSHC) provides occupational therapy, early childhood education, and speech-language-pathology services to help kids with ASD overcome communication barriers and cope with overactive and under-active sensory systems.
CSHC plans to organize a community-experience program to provide occupational therapy through social outings for children with ASD. The goal of the outings is to help kids learn to adapt to normal interactive experiences such as going to the zoo, purchasing new shoes, or visiting the dentist. While children develop a tolerance for future social interactions, community members and service providers will learn how to better interact with children who are dealing with ASD. Columbus Speech & Hearing Center requires additional funding for the community-experience program in order to cover the costs of licensed staff, transportation, and activity costs such as zoo admission.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help Columbus Speech & Hearing Center introduce children with ASD to new social experiences. If G-Team members raise $500, then the organization's community-experience program can fund staffing, transportation, and activity costs for an outing for up to five kids with ASD. Each additional $10 raised will go toward funding another outing.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
