The main office at The Barclay School in Charles Village has not been repainted in nearly a decade, and its walls are faded and chipped, giving a negative first impression of the school to prospective students, their parents, and potential community partners. Greater Homewood Community Corporation (GHCC), as part of its efforts to build and strengthen north-central-Baltimore neighborhoods, works to improve local schools in accordance with the notion that good schools are an essential aspect of thriving communities.
Since 1998, GHCC's Neighborhood Programs has partnered with local schools to promote academic and physical improvements, thus bolstering the educational experience of currently enrolled students while also attracting new neighborhood families to these schools. GHCC's staff has petitioned the city council to pass an amendment to provide funding for necessary public school repairs and maintenance, making them safer and more welcoming to students. In the meantime, The Barclay School's main office needs renovations in order to maintain a positive learning environment and to help the school attract new students and funding.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help Greater Homewood Community Corporation renovate The Barclay School. If G-Team members raise $500, then Greater Homewood can buy the necessary paint and materials needed to repaint The Barclay School's main office. Any additional funds raised will be used to fund materials to repaint the school's classrooms.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
