During the past 24 years, St. Louis BicycleWorks has provided more than 10,000 bicycles to inner-city kids through a refurbished bike shop and classes that help youth develop practical skills, self-esteem, and discipline. The BicycleWorks Earn-a-Bike program teaches youth about bicycle safety and maintenance while giving them an opportunity to earn their own bike.
During five weeks of consecutive Saturday-morning sessions, groups of 12 students between the ages of 8 and 15 undertake hands-on lessons about bicycle safety and maintenance, solving individual and group problems. Students who graduate from the program receive a free bike, helmet, light, and lock, and get to participate in a group safety ride with their peers. With funding aid, BicycleWorks can supply bike helmets, locks, and safety lights for students who would not otherwise have access to a bicycle in their Earn-a-Bike program.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help support students safely riding bicycles. If G-Team members raise $240, then St. Louis BicycleWorks can provide safety lights, helmets, and locks for 24 students in two Earn-a-Bike programs, with donations matched. Each additional $10 raised will fund a lock, light, and helmet for one student. The William A. Kerr Foundation will match all donations up to $10,000.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
All donations will be matched up to a $10,000 total by the William A. Kerr Foundation.
