According to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, reading aloud to children has a strong impact on their future literary abilities and helps them build stronger vocabularies. The Page Education Foundation's Service-to-Children program supports the education of children in grades K-8 with tutoring services that put a special emphasis on literacy through reading instruction and reading out loud with a mentor.

Page Scholars volunteer about two hours a week, during which time they meet with kids in more than 200 community sites across the state. As part of their efforts to improve literacy rates and to encourage children to regard education positively, volunteers read aloud to students to better their reading skills and actively engage them with the written word. Each year, about 12,000 Minnesota children participate in the program. To better serve these children, the organization intends to stock an in-house lending library with age-appropriate books for Page Scholars to use with kids in these Service-to-Children projects. With funding aid, The PEF can purchase 80 books for the library.

Join G-Team and donate $10 to help provide books for teaching reading skills to children. If G-Team members raise $200, then The Page Education Foundation can purchase 80 books for its lending library. Each additional $10 raised will fund four books for the library.
