Trauma Intervention Programs of Southern Nevada's teams of well-trained citizen volunteers arrive on the scenes of emergencies to assist those affected by traumatic crisis situations. The organization keeps 55 volunteers on call 24 hours a day to respond immediately and efficiently to various crises, including unexpected deaths or suicides, crime scenes, car accidents, and fires.
The volunteers—who are called in by police officers, paramedics, firefighters, or hospital personnel—assist family members and other witnesses by providing emotional support, helping arrange necessary follow-up services, and notifying family and friends of the crisis. Volunteers can also work as liaisons between victims and emergency or hospital authorities, and they provide information, referrals, and other resources to ensure that individuals receive ongoing assistance. They also supply these trauma survivors with useful resource guides containing support-group and counseling recommendations, funeral-planning assistance, contact information for crisis hotlines, and other valuable information.
Join G-Team and donate $8 to help Trauma Intervention Programs continue to print resource guides for volunteers to distribute at emergency-trauma scenes. If G-Team members raise $240, then the group can print 105 42-page resource guides. Each additional $8 raised will be used toward production costs of three additional resource guides.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100 percent off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
