What You'll Get
When Atlantis fell, the only survivors were its golfers, whose vast knowledge of water hazards saw them to safety. Hone game-saving skills with today's Groupon: for $55, you get a golf package for two at Hammond Golf Course (a $109.98 total value). The package includes:
- 18 holes of golf for two after 1 p.m. (a $35.39 value each, including HST)
- One cart rental
- $30 worth of fare at Hammond's restaurant
- Up to two accompanying children 13 or younger may play 18-holes of golf for free
The par 72 Hammond Golf Course stretches over 6,746 yards of rolling hills polka dotted with evergreens and scribbled with still creeks. Golfers approach the first tee and gaze over a 504-yard fairway, which hooks right toward a green guarded by pair of bunkers awaiting errant shots and misguided sunbathers. After the first hole, players face a gauntlet of equally lengthy par 5s, dogleg par 4s, and short par 3s. Three sets of tees make the course playable for golfers of all abilities, taking the average player around four hours—or one metric Nicklaus—to complete. Golfers with today's deal have the option of rounding out foursomes with two younger players, who can use this time to learn the game or call out adults for abusing mulligans.
After the round, club-sluggers retire to the restaurant for pub fare (starting at $4.50), salads (starting at $8.54), and burgers. Roasted turkey and bacon hide between layers of ciabatta ($14.91) from a mouth-shaped formation of fries.
