My wife and I throughly enjoyed our 18 hole playing lesson with John. My wife (basically a beginner) gained a lot of confidence, and John's style of teaching was fantastic for both of us. Fun course (and I got a hole in one on #17!). Great deal!!!

Today’s side deal gets golfers a private one-hour long-drive lesson at Hit It A Mile with John Marshall for $40 (an $80 value). Lessons take place at the East Course at the Alpharetta Athletic Club in Milton. It’s a fairly long, ahem, drive from downtown Atlanta (25 miles), but well worth it for the unique knowledge and teaching ability of the instructor.

Hit It A Mile’s accredited Class A instructor John Marshall teaches the revolutionary long-drive technique invented by Mike Austin, holder of the Guinness World Record 515-yard drive. The innovative technique maximizes leverage and force in a way not possible with traditional golf swings, while also making it much easier to hit the ball straight. Marshall learned the long-drive technique under Austin protégé Dan Shauger, and used Austin’s method to win national long-drive contests in 2005 and 2006, along with other long-ball honors.

During your lesson, while you keep your sights on the horizon, John will pay close attention to your swing and correct all the tiny errors you won’t notice, all while giving you honest, constructive feedback. This one-on-one approach will have you knocking down low-orbit satellites in no time.

Satisfied customers gave glowing testimonials for John Marshall’s lessons:

  • After many years of searching for the perfect swing and coach, I have found both with John Marshall. Using the Mike Austin method taught by John, I am more accurate and longer than ever before. With John’s patience and knowledge of the swing, immediate success has been achieved. I recommend John highly! – Don Goodwin
  • I have long been aware of the Mike Austin swing, but it remained a mystery to me. There is only so much you can learn from books and tapes. Nothing beats one-on-one instruction with a knowledgeable teacher such as John. In a very short time, he broke the swing down into just a few simple motions. I was amazed at the simplicity and how quickly the swing was demystified…I cannot recommend John enough. – Eric Strulowitz
  • He is one of the best teachers I have ever met…He really cares about helping his students…We were in the parking lot talking long after the range closed. He also e-mailed me a summary of everything we discussed to study. I have never had a teacher do that. – Kenny Wilson

About Hit It A Mile - John Marshall

Golf Instructor John Marshall can hit the golf ball a long way. While some "big hitters" are merely the product of boasting, John has the hardware to back it up. He won the American Long Drivers Association Super Senior National Championship in '05 And '06, and is a five-time RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship finalist.

These unconventional results come from a somewhat unconventional method. John has long used—and now teaches—a swing developed by legendary long driver Mike Austin, who once crushed a 515-yard drive at the 1974 U.S. Senior Open, the longest ever recorded in competition. As an instructor at Steel Canyon Golf Club, John illuminates the principles behind this swing that generate high club head speed without sacrificing accuracy. Lessons combine one-on-one coaching to help students get comfortable with the technique, which is likely a little different from the swing they're used to.
