When children are hospitalized, the experience can place tremendous strain and stress on the entire family. The I Can Make It Foundation fosters a positive environment inside Dell Children's Medical Center by providing craft classes and supplies for hospitalized children and their families.
Each hands-on course empowers participants with a new skill, a welcome distraction from treatment, and the self-satisfaction of creating a finished product. Currently, I Can Make It hosts workshops in jewelry making and photography. Students learn to bead bracelets, necklaces, and earrings, or snap photos for projects such as scrapbooks. All class materials are provided, and a staff of trained volunteers offers individualized attention. The foundation also provides the hospital with supply kits so kids and families have access to creative tools at any time during their stays. While volunteers provide crafting know-how, I Can Make It relies on donations to cover the costs of materials for kits and classes.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help the I Can Make It Foundation provide jewelry-making and photo craft materials for patients at Dell Children's Medical Center. If G-Team members raise $390, the foundation can fund a full month's worth of supplies for 130 participants. Each additional $3 raised will purchase materials for one more participant. Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
