Vegan cuisine often craftily manipulates animal-friendly ingredients to create facsimiles of nonvegan favorites, just as spies often disguise themselves as burgers before sneaking into enemy headquarters. Infiltrate your stomach with wellness with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of organic vegan fare at LifeFood Gourmet.
Spearheaded by humanitarian chef John Schott, LifeFood Gourmet whips up delectable eats that are raw, vegan, and organic. The menu begins with a suite of libations, such as 16-ounce smoothies in rich blends such as acai and mango passion ($8.50) and a signature Wugup shake, which renders slurpable ingredients including wild milk, spirulina, mamey, brazil butter, goji, cacao, bee pollen, and palm nectar ($11). Mastication-requiring fare comes in familiar forms rearranged to fit the eatery's all-natural, animal-friendly ethos. Nosh on a suprema pizza decorated with spinach, onion, zucchini, tomato, bell pepper, nut patty, and vegan cheese ($13), or chow down on a pumpkin nut meat burrito bursting with vegan nacho cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and vegan sour cream ($12). Other satisfying savory options include a burger ($12) and a plate of mediterranean nachos ($12), while a selection of succulent desserts keep sweet teeth from carving disgruntled verse into dead trees.

About LifeFood Gourmet
Growing up in Colombia, John Schott knew that he wanted to spend his life helping others. Now, as a young entrepreneur and innovative whole-food chef, John believes he’s doing just that, one bite at a time. At LifeFood Gourmet, John and company have assembled a menu built around nourishment and rejuvenation. Everything is made from scratch, right down to the condiments. The homemade veggie burger, for instance, is a mixture of sweet potato and zucchini, and the signature burrito features a gluten-free tortilla, pumpkinseed Mexican–style pâté, and avocado. Even the drink selection screams healthy, with different shakes and elixirs concocted to strengthen the immune system or deliver a better energy boost than chugging a racecar’s motor oil.
