I wrote my first review before I even took advantage of this wonderful gift! Now, here is an update. Last Saturday I took my first class. Sue, the owner, recommended that I sign up for the intro class since it ha been a while. I have taken Pilates classes at some excellent places and I have to tell you THIS is the best ever! Here is why: 1. The facility is spotless. And I mean that literally. The locker room is spacious, well lit, filled with amenities and very calming. From the restrooms to the dressing area—they think of everything. Even down to providing locks for free if you don’t have one. 2. The atmosphere is welcoming! We had people of all body types, ages, levels of fitness (we even had one gentleman!) and nobody felt excluded. Have you ever gone to a gym or work out facility where you felt like a troll because your arms were a little flabby or your mid rift was a little fluffy? Well I have. Not here. The instructor put me near a more seasoned person (she knew I was new) and watched me closely (as when my foot was 6 inches from where it should have been!)—but without hovering. This was important to me because I am a bit older than most Pilate-ites. I never felt condescended to (as it what is the old lady trying to do!) but did feel that someone was watching out for my safety. 3.The studio is drop dead gorgeous. HUGE windows, lots of natural light, plenty of space between reformers and gleaming floors. I felt miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We ended our 45 minute session with a guided meditation and I walked out feeling stronger, lighter and eager to return. By the way, they mean community. I introduced myself to the people around me and we found we were neighbors! I hope to see them in the future. Bottom line, whether you are a seasoned pro or a fledgling explorer—this is the place or you. Get in the room! You will be really glad that you did.
