A Chat with Lucky Jack Dog Training & Rehabilitation
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Like the T-Rex in Jurassic Park tested the electric fence, our dogs like to test us. In fact, they actually train us if we do not take the lead, leaving us with bad behaviors and oodles of stress. The good news? Structured activities like the walk will bring you some sweet relief very quickly.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Our name comes from the first names of each of our dogs. Lucky was a junkyard dog who was initially named Killer. Co-owner, Tom, found and rehabilitated her to exist peacefully with his family. Jack, a nervous and naughty lab/shepherd mix was adopted by co-owner, Marilyn; he inspired her to train
What do you love most about your job?
I think we see some aspect of our own dogs and our own learning in every client. We have truly been in their shoes with chaotic dogs, high stress levels, and sincere doubting it could ever be any different for us. We love how meaningful changes and guided first steps provide quick results.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
A client wrote that we rescued her from her hopeless feelings about her rescued dog. We are honored that people trust us with such a special relationship and are even more excited when we can work together to make it better.
