What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
There are few after-school programs for middle and high school students. We offer a comfortable environment and extra activities once homework is done, including our art studio. We do weekly reports for parents. If the student's school is cooperative, we do weekly check-ins with teachers.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
We provide pens, pencils, paper, and computers. Students should bring their homework, a calculator, and a laptop if they have one. We also provide bottled water, and students can bring snacks. We offer a wide range of activities when homework is done, including art, chess, and ping-pong.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
We started this business because there are lots of middle and high school kids that struggle and could use a helping hand after school. Parents are busier than ever and sometimes they lack the knowledge to help their own kids, especially with science and math. We want to help those kids succeed.
What do you love most about your job?
I really love working one-on-one with students—there's nothing like watching a student who has been struggling suddenly "get it." I also really enjoy helping students with their college searches, college applications, and college essays. I watch them grow up right in front of me!
