What You'll Get
Welcome to Groupon, Wichita! For our inaugural deal, you get $15 worth of fair-trade coffee and café fare for $5 at Mead's Corner, located on East Douglas Avenue near Old Town. Since this is everyone's first Groupon, allow us to briefly explain how it works.
How Groupon Works
Groupon is a combination of the words group and coupon. Each day, we offer an unbeatable deal on the best of Wichita: restaurants, spas, sporting events, theater, and more. By promising businesses a minimum number of customers, we get discounts you won't find anywhere else. We call it "collective buying power." If you want to get the deal, just click BUY before the offer ends at midnight. If the minimum number of people (15 for today's deal) sign up by the end of the day, you'll be emailed a gift certificate the next morning. You can print your Groupons or redeem them with our iPhone app. Use them whenever you want until the deal expires—today's expires in January. If not enough people join, no one gets the deal (and you won't be charged), so invite your friends to make sure you get the discount!
Until public-transit officials make our dream of commuting to work by rollycoaster a reality, we'll have to settle for the adrenaline rush of traditional pick-me-ups. Percolate perkiness with today's Groupon: for $5, you get $15 worth of fair-trade barista beverages and café fare at Mead's Corner, conveniently located on East Douglas Avenue near Old Town.
Mead’s Corner exclusively serves fair-trade coffee. Ease into your morning routine with a classic caffe latte ($3.30/medium), decadent raspberry mocha ($3.95/medium), or spicy chai latte ($3.60/medium). Mindful of hot summer afternoons and people’s naturally high body temperatures, Mead also serves up refreshing cold drinks such as iced coffee ($2.15/medium), Italian sodas ($3.30/medium), blended smoothies, frozen mochas, and frozen caramel lattes ($3.75 each). Complement roasted-bean juice with a pastry ($1.25–$2.25) or more mightily balance your belly's liquid-to-solid ratio with a toasty ham, chicken, veggie, or beef panini ($5.50 each).
Mead's cozy confines are the ideal venue for long conversations with friends about love, life, and Burton Gilliam’s firefighting days. The homey shop takes pride in art, music, and entertainment, providing a full calendar of events as a means of bringing community members together. Drop by with your Groupon to catch up on all the newest neighborhood news or to take a break from teasing all the neighborhood dogs through the neighborhood’s fences.
