If you are disciplined and enjoy reading, this course is a good fit for you. You are studying completely independently, mostly reading long modules. The information included is helpful, but you have no interaction with teachers or other students. It was an acceptable way to study during the Covid-19 pandemic and add this credential to my resume.

The course itself is very good, the price *seems* low. I bought this to get certified on my own time and in a rush as Vietnam has ceased extending tourist visas for people that stayed during Covid. I was told not to use a UK TEFL program as the legalization process is expensive and complicated. Since my teaching center was listed as a partner with LearnTEFL and I saw no indication of it being a UK TEFL, I bought it. After I finished, I was told by my potential employer that the TEFL Certificate would need to be notarized and legalized. When I looked in the course resources to do this, it explains that its $227 (161 British Pounds) to do so in Vietnam. So plan on paying a lot to actually use your certificate, and if you're in a hurry to get legalized, stay away. The company should be upfront about these additional costs and that it's from the UK which seems highly bureaucratic and slow.

I had no problems at all getting signed on (just follow the instructions very carefully), and the material seems quite good so far. It's very text-based, though, and could use a few more audio-visual components, but it's not overwhelming in what I've gone through so far. It's British, so it defaults to spellings, etc. that may slightly annoy Americans. (I'm Canadian.)

I thought this was a great course, especially for the money. As someone who has a background in speech therapy and ESL, I breezed through the course in about 20 hours and got full credit in both of the final assessments. I can’t speak for those who don’t have experience in this area, but for those who do, I highly recommend it!
