What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Nealien offers lessons in math and reading along with alternative areas of study that are both fun and interactive in order to develop a child's ability to correlate learning with pleasure while also helping them develop skills for future trades and careers.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
The material that I use is designed to complement the student's age, and level of competence. Students will bring material to record notes (pencil, paper) while I bring a DJ controller, songwriting exercises, electronic project kits, and more to go along with math and reading tools.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I enjoy watching academic epiphanies occur for students that normally struggle for one reason or another. I firmly believe that every child is able to grasp any subject if it is presented with their curiosity and enthusiasm in mind.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the fact that I get to learn what I want to learn as well as sharing that knowledge with eager minds. I also enjoy offering a residual lesson plan (i.e. it is a great chance that your child is going to learn who Paul Simon is, and use him as a subject in a sentence prior to writing a song).
