If human contact is a necessary for a healthy social life, then Ocean County Jiu Jitsu is a veritable social club. During their high-intensity Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes, peers go head-to-head during (friendly) match-ups and drills, learning from each other's strengths and weaknesses. The sessions teach people how to defend themselves using leverage, rather than brute strength, giving them the skills to take down much larger opponents. Instructors, meanwhile, focus on creating a non-competitive space where everyone from school kids to full-grown adults can feel comfortable.
