Most battleships are lost forever after being sunk by large red pegs descending from the heavens. Witness these maritime beasts in rare form with today's deal: for $18, you get two tickets to the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum (a $36 value).
Visitors to Patriots Point can walk through the Balao-class submarine Clamagore, view the Congressional Medal of Honor Museum, and see a Vietnam base camp replica. After walking the stars-and-stripes-lined pier, explorers can take a self-guided tour on six different routes, climbing through the alabaster halls and gleaming ladders of the USS Yorktown, a 42,000-ton, 888-foot aircraft carrier, complete with tableaus of the captain’s quarters, displays of navy uniforms, and a detailed history of the USS Yorktown’s participation in WWII. Once reaching the flight deck, guests can gaze at the warplanes and helicopters lining the vista of the floating tarmac, including an AH-1J Cobra, an F4F Wildcat, and an A-4C Skyhawk. Patriots Point is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
