Great place but sadly they closed this week. They said they have another location though so I definitely recommend trying it out.

What You'll Get

If placed together in a jar and shaken vigorously, peanuts will turn on each other in anger, fighting until they churn themselves into delicious peanut butter. Enjoy the results of peanut rage with today's Groupon: for $7, you get $15 worth of peanut-butter creations at PBandU in Wayne.

The menu at PBandU is bonded together with homemade peanut butter mingling with sandwiches, fondues, pizzas, smoothies, and more. With creamy, home-style, super chunky, and chocolate peanut butter varieties to choose from, fans of mashed peanuts have plenty of ways to enjoy the simple delicacy.

Diners can begin a nutty sojourn with a classic PB&J ($3) and a glass of milk or soy milk ($1.65–$2.25), or focus their teeth on the PB and bacon, cheddar, and pickle sandwich ($4) with Wonderbread White, wheat bread, or gluten-free bread. A small PB fondue ($5) comes with a choice of two of the 18 available toppings and mix-ins, including M&Ms, honey, bananas, pretzels, pound cake, potato chips, and cinnamon sugar, which can also be utilized to create the perfect PB sandwich ($3.50 with two toppings, $0.50 for additional toppings). PBandU's two-topping pizza ($9) is prepared with inventive nibblets such as chocolate chips, Fluff, Nutella, raisins, apples, and bacon. PB-based smoothies ($4 each) help keep insides well greased with the world's most compliant kernel.

Mercury Amodio, the entrepreneurial mastermind behind PBandU, traded a career in tunes for a life devoted to working with tasty peanut paste. As a monument to the peanut, the restaurant is decorated with millwork and tables resembling the multifaceted jelly partner. Located in downtown Wayne, the eatery is surrounded by shops, boutiques, cafés, restaurants, and is near the regional rail (R5).

Both NBC-10 and Haute Living magazine's blog featured PBandU, and 10 Yelpers give PBandU a four-star average.

  • True to its name, every item is based in peanut butter. Crunchy or smooth, whatever masterpiece you smeared over Wonder bread as a kid has come back, and then some. – Melissa Auman Greiner, Haute Living
  • Whoever thought this up is a genius. Comfortable space, great staff. Didn't think I'd like a PB-based shake, but it blew me away. The Sandwiches are mind-expanding, will try more of them next time. – Allen R., Yelp, 3/1/11

About PBandU

[[m:#### PBandU

At PBandU, founder Mercury Amodio reboots the classic school-lunch combination of creamy peanut butter on Wonder bread. Chefs smash and jar honey-roasted peanuts, and pair them with 20 toppings such as honey, bacon, and cheddar cheese for a menu lauded by Haute Living for its “simple, youthful appeal.” Alternatively, dining companions can forsake bread altogether with inventive dishes such as peanut-butter fondue and peanut-butter smoothies, all served by a horrified Mr. Peanut.:m]]
