Novelty shirts airbrushed with bikini-clad bodies or chiseled statues of a shirtless George Washington provide the convincing, if temporary, illusion of fitness. Find a more permanent fitness solution with today's Groupon: for $49, you get five SPX group classes (a $155 value) at Pilates Plus Santa Clarita. All five classes must be booked and used within the span of one month.
The SPX system specifically works to target hips and thighs and tighten the core by pushing the muscles to failure. You'll stretch and strengthen your muscles until the point of collapse, a proven method for developing a rock-hard middle. Developed by Pilates pro and media-prone fitness guru Sebastien Lagree, the intense, 40- to 55-minute classes will give even diehard gym rats speedy results and work the muscles harder than standard Pilates-based workouts.
Strength comes through endurance and repetition rather than pumping pounds of kilograms of iron. Your motivation comes externally, from cheerful instructors and friendly classmates, rather than grizzled former baseball players looking to release pent-up anger. Sessions start as early as 6:15 a.m. and are offered every day, even Invisiday, which is between Monday and June. View a complete schedule and sign up for the group classes of your choosing.

About Pilates Plus Santa Clarita
A former gymnast and collegiate diver suffering from a stress fracture in her lower back, Cassidy Farwell sought a total-body workout that would strengthen her core and alleviate her lower back pain. Around the same time, all-around fitness enthusiast Syd Shelton became curious about Pilates's growing popularity, and took her first class. Though they sought out Pilates for very different reasons, it made such an impact on them that they decided to open their own studio together to share the total-body toning techniques with others. As certified instructors, Cassidy and Syd now lead classes designed to tone the body from head to toe, with emphasis on strengthening the hips, thighs, core, and vestigial tail.
