Adult classes take a variety of approaches, as beginning and intermediate ballet instills graceful skills and refined technique; dance fitness courses ignite endorphins through choreography-centered workout routines. In Jazz Fit sessions, instructor Mary Hunt harnesses her professional experience on TV and film to cultivate toned physiques by way of Martha Graham techniques and athletic dance steps. Ballet Fit pupils clutch the barre or sturdier peers as they prime muscles in basic stretches and ballet positions and send bodies soaring through traditional jumps and traveling exercises. Weekly Pre-Ballet 1 and 2 classes enthrall tykes with tidbits about ballet vocabulary and musicality while teaching poses and patterns performed midair or atop the barre. Props, games, and structured exercises enrich the learning experience, helping kids achieve quick-stepping stardom and the ability to leap the most treacherous of playground sand castles.
