Legend has it that the original inhabitants of Positano were drawn to the Mediterranean village during a treacherous storm by a voice calling out from the mountains: “posa, posa," or "rest, rest." When Antonino and John moved from Positano to New York, they breathed new life into that folkloric phrase with their Italian restaurant, Posa Posa. Today, more than 30 years since opening, the restaurant continues to serve authentic Mediterranean fare ranging from bruschetta and antipasto to eggplant parmigiana and lobster pescatore. But it specializes in Sicilian-style pizzas—thicker crust and rectangular shape—such as the Fresca, which comes topped with fresh tomatoes and mushrooms as well as zucchini and onion, or one of the Stuffed Sicilian options.
