Under the guidance of four instructors, kids travel throughout Europe, exploring Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava, and Prague, while stopping to hone their hockey prowess. The players practice power skating, shooting, passing, stick handling, hitting, and scoring moves during 10 hours of ice time in Edmonton and 13 in Europe. They spend six hours of off-ice time learning from Olympic team coaches, and put their knowledge to the test in a minimum of five scrimmages against European minor-league teams. Students receive a practice jersey and team uniform, access to a psychologist and nutritionist, and two meals a day throughout the trip.
Groups explore Europe through side trips such as castle tours and build camaraderie during barbecues, bonfires, an opening party, and an autograph session with NHL stars. Players stay at three- and four-star hotels, including the New York Ranger’s Marián Gáborik’s MG Rink and Hotel in Trencin, Slovakia, and three nights at the Aquapalace Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic, which is home to three indoor water parks.
Pro Euro Training
Channeling his 10-year career as professional hockey player, owner and head instructor Marek Babic helps players of all ages become better hockey players. At his on-ice training center, he and his instructors lead youngsters and adults in sharpening their skills through private instruction and team sessions. The dedicated coaches will customize sessions to their players' needs, focusing on skating, shooting, or dodging checks with graceful triple lutzes. They also lead intensive youth summer camps onsite or in tours across Europe.
Those seeking to improve their successful shot percentage can practice drills at the shooting range or get a peep at their technique with the center's video shot-analysis system.
