Photo safaris begin with a 30-minute training session in which pupils learn proper camera operation, lighting techniques, and composition. Afterward, groups of 12–15 practice their newly-attained skills as they walk by sites such as the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, or the Women’s Memorial. A tripod or monopod is recommended for sunset safaris.<p>
Professional Image Photography
John Drew founded Professional Image Photography, a full-service company that produces 100% digital images. He and his team honed their craft with highly recognizable clients, shooting images at the White House and the ITSMF Black-Tie Gala Awards. They nab photographs for weddings, corporate clients, headshots, and publicity, among other uses, and employ green initiatives that include internet FTP delivery and avoiding paper forms. Additionally, their photography workshops and safaris allow learners to explore D.C. landmarks and politicians' garages while mastering their own cameras.
