Pilates, like pierogi, originated as a way for Europeans to heat up and dispose of their soft, potato-y cores. Cook up a firm core with today's Groupon: for $59, you get five drop-in classes (a $100 value in Ogden and Liberty; a $125 value in Salt Lake City) and one private session (a $60 value) at Propulsion Pilates (up to a $185 total value). This Groupon is valid at its Ogden, Salt Lake City, and Liberty locations.

Propulsion Pilates propels traditional Pilates instruction on modern equipment as well as strength and cardiovascular training techniques. A fit fleet of instructors sports merit badges in each of Joe Pilates's apparatus, tasking students with rigorous sessions encompassing Reformers, Wunda chairs, mats, and kettlebells. During five classes and one solo session, students tighten their cores while building endurance, strength, and flexibility with the same regimen used to train for M.C Escher obstacle courses. Sessions run 55 minutes at the Ogden and Liberty locations, and the Salt Lake City location offers the 45-minute high-octane, shirt-drenching class alongside its traditional 55-minute classes. Propulsion Pilates

Propulsion Pilates' instructors rely on the familiar Pilates contraptions that fill most studios, but they alter the time-tested workout regimen by incorporating it into a more modern style of circuit training. They combine sequences on the Reformer, Tower, and Wunda Chair with occasional cardio exercises and kettlebell work, creating challenging sessions that manage to refine technique while bolstering strength and flexibility. To keep classes teetering on the cuttingest of edges, the instructors attend at least two Pilates workshops every year to update their mental cache of fitness tricks, but they always leave a little disappointed that a flying Reformer machine appears to be at least another six months off.

I attended a class at SLC location, it is a small modest studio equipped with pilates chairs, reformers , mat and rollers, meaning - all you need for the class is there. The class is run slightly different than I was used to, but felt good - hope it will produce a results I am hopping for.
