I purchased two Groupons (about $70 each) for a 90-minute Swedish or deep tissue massage with hot towels and optional massage oil - one for myself and one as a gift. The business had only been open for about a week at the time of our visit, so the space was new and clean. The front desk staff member was friendly and informative about their services, which made the check-in process smooth. There was a brief miscommunication regarding the coupon we had purchased, but it was addressed and resolved by the massage therapist. Guests are asked to remove their shoes and wear shared slippers provided by the spa. It may be helpful for the business to sanitize the slippers after each use, similar to how bowling alleys sanitize rental shoes. In terms of the massages, my experience was satisfactory. I liked my massage therapist and found the session to be okay-good overall. However, my mom felt her massage did not meet her expectations. At checkout, we were required to pay taxes (about $14 each), which was unexpected because we had not encountered additional charges before from our previous experiences using Groupon nor was this info in the fine print. Overall, the facility was clean and the service was decent, but we likely would not return. We have tried a handful of massage establishments, and this review reflects our personal experience.
