What You'll Get
Without the promise of sweets, mouths would never have the patience to stay open during dentist's appointments or closed during beekeeping demonstrations. Keep mouths copacetic with today's Groupon: for $48, you get admission for two to a pie-making class at Rose Cottage & Gardens in Spartanburg (a $96.12 value). Classes are currently scheduled on the following dates:
- Friday, October 14, at 7:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 19, at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, November 5, at 4 p.m.
- Wednesday, November 2, at 10:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, November 9, at 7:30 p.m.
The culinary professors at Rose Cottage & Gardens illuminate helpful techniques to create appetizing and picturesque pies for any level of cooking experience. Guests sip complimentary glasses of wine as they watch a veteran culinary-arts instructor show how to fashion delicate dough into a double crust and cobble together an impeccable apple pie with dutch crumb topping. After the demonstration portion, students concocts their own pumpkin pie by hand to take home and devour with friends or freeze and have mounted on the living-room wall. Teachers equip bakers with disposable pie pans but students can also bring their own. Class attendees should also bring along a paring knife, a chef knife, and an optional apron to shield their outfit from paint tossed by gourd-rights activists.
Classes take place in the Rose Cottage's picturesque residential setting built in 1932 as a home for wayward flowers. Although not included in the value of this Groupon, guests can stop by the attached Rose Cottage restaurant before their class for drinks and gourmet fare at a discounted price.
Additional classes with different dates and times will be added, as well. Please check the Rose Cottage & Gardens website for details.
