What You'll Get
Jump to: Reviews
Get your life in order by getting someone else to do it for you. With today's side deal, $15 gets you $30 of errands, plus one free errand, at RUNmyERRAND—a Boston-based startup incubated by Zipcar. Once you receive your Groupon, all you'll have to do is enter your info at RUNmyERRAND's special Groupon-only user page and $30 will be added automatically to your account. You can begin posting errands immediately afterward.
RUNmyERRAND is a website with a simple concept: it connects time-crunched people and businesses with people willing to do their bidding. These fall into two groups—the Senders and the Runners. The Senders offer a monetary reward to the person doing the errand running. The Runners are people willing to carry out the Sender's requests and, because they're pre-screened, they're far more reliable than the magic gnomes you depend on to do your cobbling.
RUNmyERRAND offers a ton of errand options ($7–$15 per errand) and its users have come up with a number of their own suggestions, like returning clothes to a store, picking up a package at the post office, and transporting blood to the blood bank. Make your own—be it whittling a bust of yourself from soapwood, doing your Kegel exercises for you, or haggling with the guy who owns the comic book shop.
RUNmyERRAND is the Facebook 2009 fbFund winner, which awards innovative web startups that leverage the social networking aspects of Facebook. The company also gets a lot of solid press and e-press from such sources as the Boston Globe, Thrillist, and Boston Herald:
- RUNmyERRAND is a social networking inspired web and mobile marketplace that provides people and businesses an easy and trusted way to get everyday tasks done in their own hyperlocal community. – Jason Kincaid, TechCrunch
- RunMyerrand is a great example of how a flash of genius must have a genius behind it to bring it to light. – Robin Hauck, Misstropolis
- I may have just found simply the coolest, most awesome, most convenient, time saving, money saving, most awesome (did I say most awesome?) service in downtown Boston - RunMyErrand.com. – Anthony Longo, The Boston Condo Loft
