Nice ambience. Quiet enough to hold a decent conversation. Ceviche outstanding! Service very, very good. Ray was our server. Covid protocols appeared to be adhered to. We will definitely go back. I would have gone 5 stars, but when I asked to sub mashed potatoes (which did come with other entrees) for the basmati rice, I was told there would be a $4.00 upcharge. Really??? $4 bucks for subbing potatoes?

We had the 3 course brunch. The appetizers were fried Calamari sticks and ceviche. The Calamari were probably the most tender i have ever eaten and the cevichewas perfect. Then the entrees were tenderloin and skirt steak. Somehow the skirt steak was even more tender than the tenderloin and melt-in-your- mouth flavorful. We finished with a lemon- line tag and a panna cotta with raspberry sauce. I'll be back for more.

The food taste great but the poached eggs were either hit or miss, under cooked on one meal, over cooked on another, and perfect on the third.

About Sal y Pimienta

The name Sal y Pimienta means "salt and pepper" in Spanish, but it takes more than just seasoning to produce the complex flavors of the restaurant's modern South American cuisine. Chefs scurry about the open kitchen, preparing Uruguay- and Argentina-inspired dishes using a wood-burning oven, organic produce, and grass-fed meats from farms in Uruguay and Texas. Specialties range from empanadas and milanesas—breaded filets of meat—to homemade stuffed pastas and salt-crusted branzino. The restaurant even sears specialty cuts of meat, including bison and wagyu beef. Diners can pair their meals with a selection of more than 30 wines by the glass; varietals hail from Argentina, Chile, Italy, and California.
