Some restaurants make you uncomfortable with their tiny dishes and monocled maître d's. Others make you uncomfortable in the opposite way: with onion blossoms shaped like your coffin. If you're looking for a happy combination of affordable prices, tasteful ambience, and healthy, filling meals, you'll find it at The Savant Project. Located at 1625 Tremont St., The Savant Project is a mix of urban chic and casual dining and drinking that provides just enough atmosphere without forcing the cool down your throat like an unwanted freezy pop. It's full of awesome without being full of it. Get in on it with today's $40 Groupon for just $20.
Savant Project has excellent food and drink for both lunch and dinner. Its menu boasts entrees like the half-pound Angus burger stuffed with Vermont Cheddar cheese and topped with crispy applewood bacon. For dinner, try the raw tuna sashimi in a lime, sesame, and wasabi vinaigrette—it's like the sushi gods cried a salty-sweet tear in the shape of tuna sashimi right into your mouth. On the hot side, get the beef sliders with ginger, cilantro, and cucumber—unlike White Castle sliders, these have ginger, cilantro, and cucumber. The drink menu has a great beer selection, including Peak Organic Nut Brown and Harpoon Winter Warmer, as well as about 30 specialty martinis and cocktails like the mango mojito.
Get some friends together and check out Sex & Drugs Trivia Sunday at 8 p.m., which has garnered praise from multiple Yelpers. Stop hanging out in dives with food stains on the walls and head for the Savant Project, with its cool design and guest chef on the last Tuesday of every month.
