Mastering a peerless golf swing requires intense concentration on the arc of the club and a healthy disregard for the condition of your neighbor's statue garden. Control your projectile's path with today's Groupon: for $20, you get a 75-minute golf training session at Scratch Golf, with locations in Poway and Santa Clarita (a $56.25 value).
Scratch Golf's training sessions lead golfers of all ages and abilities through 75-minutes of drills, tips, and evaluation designed to improve play from tee to green. The training curriculum was developed in conjunction with celebrated PGA teacher Rick Smith and employs both electronic golf simulators and uniquely constructed practice greens to help hone swings, putts, and the ability to differentiate blue fescue from rye grass for personal flora collections. During the training sessions, players and their instructors move through a bevy of specialized stations, where brief instruction videos lead into PGA-inspired drills and practice shots that craft helpful habits. Training concludes as players hit the digital greenscapes of a golf simulator, which captures the mechanics of every shot, creating a personal database for students and instructors to objectively assess and applaud quietly.
Students are also given a tour of Scratch Golf's 11,000-square-foot indoor practice facilities, each replete with USGA bunkers, short-game areas festooned with several lengths of grass, and greens decked out with all the warbles and breaks of wave pool. Should players arrive without clubs of their own, Scratch Golf will provide Callaway and Odyssey clubs.
