What You'll Get
Thanks to cartoons, many people believe that the correct way to taste cider is to take a sip, then witness something so shocking that it causes them to involuntarily expectorate. Skip the spit takes and sample cider correctly with today's Groupon: for $25, you get a cider flight, a cheese platter, and a bottle of sparkling cider (up to a $65.48 value including HST) at Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse in Saanichton.
Sea Cider handcrafts a variety of artisan ciders from more than 50 varieties of organic heritage apples. With the long cider flight, two visitors can splash their way into an ocean of altered apple juice by savouring samples of each of the current ciders (a $16 value). Then, guests can nourish their starving throats with sips from mugs filled with either a nonalcoholic mulled cider or Hot Buttered Rumrunner—a concoction of organic apple juice, mulling spice, butter, and Rumrunner, a semidry cider brewed with hand-pressed apples, fermented with champagne yeast, and gracefully aged in rum barrels ($7 per mug). Enjoy sweeping views of the orchard, Cordova Channel, and the future from the tasting room while sharing a bottle of sparkling cider (a $15–$17 value) and a platter of local cheeses and charcuterie (a $15 value).
- Definitely not to be missed if you're a foodie in the Victoria area. – Tina H., Yelp
- Wonderful, wonderful place. We did the tasting flight of their 9 ciders paired with the tasting platter for two, all outdoors on their lovely deck overlooking an apple orchard & the ocean. They took the time to explain how each cider is made, its history, its taste, & comparisons to other similar cider brands in similar styles. – nita m., Yelp
