What's one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans? Spirit TKD's one-on-one sessions really help the practitioner understand tae kwon do techniques and identify strengths and weaknesses. Classes are small enough to enhance the learning experience of each student.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business? Tae kwon do started as a way for me to get back into shape which transferred over in to my everyday lifestyle. We teach five basic principles: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. These principles help the practitioner look at the world around them differently.
What do you love most about your job? Making a difference in peoples lives, helping a student find confidence within themselves, and being there when the student digs deep within themselves to find courage to carry on. . . . [I love] knowing that what I do today can greatly influence the future.
