While turkey sandwiches are light and refreshing, they are decidedly not thirst quenching. Today's side deal provides deli eats and hydration with $11 worth of drinkable teas, sandwiches, and more for $5 at T-Deli in the Bamboo Lounge in Hillcrest. A bushel of healthy eats and more than 200 teas await your judgment for a quick bite or a long slow round of soothing sipping.
T-Deli guides cravings along a menu of hot and cold teas, with extended families of red, green, and black teas by the ounce ($3 for 1 ounce, $5.50 for 2 ounces) or by the cup (tea of the day is $1.75), and fresh sandwiches (up to $6.95), tortas (most are $5.95), and paninis ($5.95). Pass through a hearty bite of avocado BLT ($6.95) while sifting through the peacetime aromas of white oolong tea, which wraps your appetite in a lush down comforter before rocking it to sweet dreams of over-sized teacup trees. You can also order fresh, seasonal fruit smoothies.
- Great sandwiches, but the most amazing fruit salad on the side! Not just melons and grapes, but apples, nectarines, and lots of other fresh fruit. SO GOOD!!! – Adrianna, Urbanspoon
- The portions are large (but not too crazy large) and the prices are right on. The tea of the day is always really refreshing as well. If you're looking for an adorable little place with consistently fantastic food, this is it! – Kate S., Yelp
The fare is always fresh at T-Deli, where chefs source their ingredients from local markets each day. Using family recipes, they pull these ingredients together to craft custom-made roast beef sandwiches, avocado BLTs, and a selection of tortas, including chipotle chicken with jack cheese. Other light options include salads, wraps, and quesadillas, all of which pair with hot and cold teas, smoothies, and even sangria. T-Deli has recently extended their hours to stay open until 8 p.m., Thursday–Saturday.
