There's been a line outside The Bethlehem Dairy Store since the 1920s, when the long-time ice cream institution first opened its doors. Not a whole lot has changed; locals still turn to the shop, or "The Cup" as it's often called, for a cone on a hot day. Customers have their choice of classic flavors—pistachio, mint chocolate chip—and newer alternatives—blueberry cheesecake, Almond Joy—as well as soft-serve and sugar-free varieties. The store is open year-round dishing out seasonal flavors, such as peppermint stick and egg nog.

In August 2002, The Bethlehem Dairy Store opened its second location on the campus of Lehigh University, enabling college professors to reward their best students with ice cream. Like the original location, this outpost serves ice cream, Scooter Pies, giant Chipwiches, and more.
