Tea tipplers, coffee connoisseurs, and raging chocoholics all have reason to savor today's deal: $20 worth of edible and sippable tea, coffee, and chocolates at The Cultured Cup, a fancy tea shop that the Dallas Observer hailed as having "the Best Fancy Teas."
Tea—much like classical music, art, and straight-to-DVD movie sequels—can be daunting territory for a newbie. Cultured Cup's extensive menu carries 100 varieties of Mariage Frères teas alone. Luckily, certified tea specialist Kyle Stewart will guide you through the delicate, florid world of blacks, greens, oolongs, and herbals; teas are generally between $2.25 and $9.50 per ounce. If you're feeling adventurous, indulge in the latest rare varietal Kyle uncovered during his Harlem-Globetrotters-on-CBS's-The-Amazing-Race globe-trotting. Recent finds are Dian Hong Imperial (refined black tea; $13.75 per ounce) and Oolong Phoenix Mountain (suffuses the palate with ripe peaches and honeysuckle; $11.75 per ounce). Cafephiles will get a perk-up from the Cup's selection of 40 fresh gourmet blends that ranges from Golden Sumatra ($1.85 per 2 ounces) to Jamaica Blue Mountain ($8.65 per 2 ounces) to Cinnamon Bun ($1.75 per 2 ounces) to the full-bodied Plaza Blend espresso ($1.90 per 2 ounces). If you still feel like you're trapped in a dark tea closet, go with voluptuously rich drinking chocolate from the Queen of England's personal chocolatier, Charbonnel et Walker ($25.95 per 500 grams). Whatever you choose to drink, follow it with a few decadent Leonidas buttercream chocolates from Belgium.
The Cultured Cup atmosphere is much more Manhattan loft than grandmother's tea-chamber. Blissfully sink into plush sofas while soaking in the modish lighting, modern accents, and hardwood floors made from real hardwood.
Note: This deal is for in-store purchases only.

To Serve at the Pleasure of the Queen
Did you know that the Queen of England has her own personal chocolatier? Such is the luxury of royalty. The Queen also has a variety of other personal employees who work strictly at her pleasure:
- Personal Food Taster: This position is usually given to a plucky orphan until a pluckier, less poisoned orphan can be found.
- Personal Paintball Instructor: A largely ceremonial position, he or she assists with Her Majesty’s many paintball-related duties, including the traditional paintballing of a Christmas goose.
- Personal Shoe Put-On-Er: Only hired so the Queen can feel sassy each morning as she says, “I can put on my own dang shoes!”
- Personal Problem Child: So that she could live out her screenplay for Problem Child 4: A Royal Problem, the Queen hired original Problem Child actor Michael Oliver, now 28, to live with her and be incorrigible.
