What You'll Get
Unlike a grumbling stomach, uptight muscles can't be soothed with shots of cotton candy or chain snacking. Soothe your snooty sinews with today's Groupon: for $39, you get your choice of 90-minute deluxe massage (up to an $81 value) at The Massage Spot, which has two locations in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach.
In The Massage Spot's modern, Zenhanced atmosphere that features candles and tranquil music, guests recline on comfortable tables as their tensions are kneaded into nonexistence. During your rejuvenating 90-minute deluxe massage, one of the spa's certified and licensed therapists will slather your shoulders with relief and make your muscles tingle with satisfaction. Choose from six options, including sports massage to prevent injury and expand your range of motion, deep tissue to reach deep into deepest strongholds of stress and firmly demand it leave, or reflexology to stimulate specific pressure points that correspond with aches, pains, and chilly blood across the body.
Presided over by founder Sean Struxness, whose massaging endeavors have taken him around the world, The Massage Spot's clientele has included Cheryl Hines, Shannon Elizabeth, Shaun Livingston, and Buzz Lightyear. Use today's deal to improve your limbo skills and loosen up your neck in preparation for the upcoming Owls Anonymous meeting.
- When I went in for my appointment, the staff was very friendly and accommodating [sic], and the massage/facial were just as of quality if not better than a luxury resort… – uclagirl22, Citysearch, Highland Avenue location
- The room was dimly lit with really relaxing music and a heated massage bed. It smelled terrific and I was comfortable right away. I had a one hour swedish massage that felt like it lasted for two hours. – Chandra S., Yelp, Pier Avenue location

About The Massage Spot
In his early days as a massage therapist, Sean Struxness was struck by the stark contrasts in quality between high-end and low-end spas, noticing a large gap between the two. He founded The Massage Spot to fill that gap, partly because he no longer wanted to mow the gap's out-of-control grass. Though it forgoes the locker rooms and showers that full day spas may offer, Struxness's mini day spa doesn't skimp on the tranquil atmosphere, as it features flickering candles, soothing music, and a relaxing zen area. The service menu isn't lacking, either; The Massage Spot's team of professionals performs haircuts and deep conditionings, nine types of facials, spa pedicures with aromatherapy soaks, and Western and Eastern styles of massage therapy.
