Contrary to what one might assume, rock climbing is not the opposite of rock tumbling, though it is still inadvisable to enjoy both activities concurrently. Learn to tumble upward with today's deal: for $50, you get a two-hour rock-climbing class and a one-month pass (up to a $125 value) at Triangle Rock Club, located in Morrisville. Climbers must be at least 12 years old to use this Groupon.
Triangle Rock Club’s state-of-the-art facility is home to more than 9,000 square feet of expertly crafted terrain with upward of 100 routes. Today's deal gifts beginning wall-walkers with the Introduction to Climbing class, a two-hour course that teaches students all the basic skills necessary for successfully holding on to a rocky facade that cares neither for your safety nor your unfinished, thought-provoking autobiography. Covering rope techniques, belaying, bouldering, and equipment etiquette, the class is designed to introduce first-time climbers to the age-old art of summiting every imposing peak in sight. The intro class is held Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. After the session, graduates get a one-month pass to test their newly acquired talents in TRC's indoor cliff-gripping world, with floors plastered with shock-absorbing foam. All equipment is included during this one-month admittance into the realm of altitudinal advancement.
Founded by two former Marines, Triangle Rock Club offers customers a climate-controlled interior, a lounge with WiFi and an HDTV, and a large fitness center where guests can complement climbing's full-body workout with weights, kettlebells, squat racks, and more. Appointments are required; Triangle recommends scheduling your class two weeks in advance.
Reviews
Nine Google Mappers and five Yelpers give Triangle Rock Club an average of 4.5 stars. The rock-climbing center has more than 1,600 Facebook fans.
- One of the things I love the most about TRC is the people that frequent the place. I've never felt embarrassed because I couldn't finish a route regardless of how easy it should have been. Even the best climbers are friendly and supportive. – Chris H., Yelp
- We had our son's birthday party at TRC and everyone had a blast. All the kids went home exhausted and with a smile on their face! Their staff was extremely helpful organizing the event and getting the kids climbing. – mt Vernon, Google Maps
