From the merchant: One month of unlimited Brazilian jiu-jitsu and self-defense classes; reality-based MMA training

The Deal

  • $64 for four weeks of unlimited Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes in Menlo Park ($125 value)

Brazilian jujitsu classes don’t just increase physical strength and stamina—they also teach practical self-defense techniques. Brazilian jujitsu’s grappling techniques, such as mounts and joint locks, are designed to help fighters overtake opponents of virtually any size—making it a great discipline for men, women, and teens. A modified version of traditional Japanese jujitsu and judo, Brazilian jujitsu demands that fighters stay close to the ground, incorporating timing and leverage to take advantage of faster, stronger opponents.

We specialize in teaching men, women, and teens how to effectively defend themselves using reality-based self-defense and Brazilian jiu-jitsu in a realistic, fun, and ego-free environment.

Is your location strictly for adults, or can kids participate as well?

We teach ages 15 years and older.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?

We saw that traditional martial arts were not adequately preparing people for the emotional and psychological aspect of violence. We use scenario training to bridge this gap and better prepare students to avoid and survive a violent encounter.

What do you love most about your job?

Helping people from all walks of like increase their confidence, awareness, and physical fitness in a fun and encouraging environment.
